Sacred Paths Community
"Sharing the message of faith, hope and love."

WHO WE ARE

HISTORY

Sacred Paths Community was founded, under the leadership of Stephen M. Heilakka, M.Div., on June 14, 2008 by 20 people committed to the belief that a small group of people can effect positive change in the world.

We gather on Sunday mornings to enter into a different conversation from the one we are in the rest of the week. A space is created to listen to the stirrings of the soul.  This is a sacred conversation — a conversation about how to live life with purpose, integrity and consciousness.

Our Social Gathering begins at 9:30 AM with coffee, tea and pastries.  At 10:00 AM, we move into our Sacred Space.  We are a dynamic and growing Community.  We would be delighted to welcome you.

At present, there are three part-time staff members.  Stephen Heilakka, M.Div, is our Spiritual Director, Carol Fisher is our Creative Director, and Rev. Rhetta Morgan is our musical director.

Stephen M. Heilakka, M.Div.
Spiritual Director
Stephen discerned a call into ministry at an early age. Upon gradu
ating from Duke Divinity School in Durham, North Carolina, he was ordained in the United Methodist Church. He later left the ministry after retraining as a therapist specializing in Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. In 2005, he returned to the ministry in a nondenominational setting.

Perhaps Stephen's greatest gift is that of his being able to be fully "in the moment." As an accomplished artist and improvisational musician, he feels that access to the soul is best achieved when the intellectual, emotional and physical realms of life seek to serve the spiritual realm. He describes himself as living in two worlds. With one foot planted firmly in reality, he sets his sights on the world of Spirit in order to support the transformation of the universe.

Carol L. Fisher
Creative Director
Carol has over 20 years' experience as an events planner, and has created activities for personal enrichment, community building, and good old fun with numerous spiritual organizations in the Greater Bucks County area. Carol's soulful leadership serves to empower individuals in deepening their connections with one another and with the inner wisdom of their own spirit. She skillfully inspires exploration of the sacred with multidimensional opportunities that stimulate the senses and touch the heart. A naturally gifted teacher, Carol has experience in both children's and adults' spiritual education. Her talent for supporting individuals on their own unique soul journey emanates from 18 years as a massage therapist and energy worker, and a 10-year exploration of earth connected spirituality.

Rev. Rhetta Morgan

Music Director

As a musician and an ordained interfaith minister Rhetta brings extraordinary talent to the staff at Sacred Paths.  Rhetta was musically trained at the Peabody Conservatory of music in Baltimore and more recently ordained by the One Spirit Interfaith Seminary in NYC.  Whether singing or speaking you know you are in the presence of grace when you are the one who is listening.

Like musical dessert, Rhetta sings rich, sweet, memorable songs.

Weaving strands of smooth Jazz, Folk, African and African American music, she sings of a world community that celebrates cultural and spiritual diversity. Song crafting with voice, piano, percussion and mandolin as accompaniment, she writes and arranges songs of profound expression connecting her voice with the listener's heart.

As a gifted speaker, Rhetta has preached in many venues.  Her primary theme is the choice of love over fear.   “We must continually choose love, look for love, respect and give love, in order to fulfill our potential as human and spiritual beings.”
